Spring is around the corner and so is Salesforce’s Spring '25 Release. Let us plant seeds of efficiency and effectiveness in your mind while you check out some of the highlights of the upcoming release!

Customization: Sort List Views by Multiple Columns

Veterans of the Salesforce platform will rejoice at this update: lists views can now be sorted by multiple columns! This will allow folks to view data in a more intuitive way and make list views more actionable. Not only that but related lists can also be sorted by multiple columns. To set up multiple column sort, click the up and down arrow icon and select the columns to include in the sort. For now admins cannot save multi-column sorts as a default in list views but we expect this to change in a future release.

Development: Salesforce Lightning Design System 2, aka SLDS 2 (Beta)

Salesforce has been rolling out a more modern UI over the past year. Folks using Starter and Pro Suites were one of the first to get access to it and now in Spring '25 the option to turn on the new look and use it in LWC components is available as a beta feature. This new UI, called SLDS 2, can be enabled by selecting the "Turn on an enhanced Lightning user interface" option in Setup->User Interface. Developers can use the SLDS Validator to audit existing UI code to aid in transitioning from SLDS 1 to 2 in their LWC components.

.

Flow: View Immediate Feedback from Screen Components with Invalid Values

To improve data entry in screen flows, Salesforce has added automatically giving immediate validation feedback after each field, instead of only when navigating to the next screen. For example, after entering a phone number and clicking into the next field, the user will see an error message if the phone is not formatted properly. This immediate feedback is a welcome change as users expect instant feedback on forms they fill out on the web.

.

Experience: Improve LWR Site Performance with Experience Delivery (Beta)

Salesforce orgs with existing sites on the Build Your Own LWR template can now use Experience Delivery to improve site performance and scalability, including subsecond page loads, improved security and SEO. Existing LWR sites use client-side rendering when pages load, but with Experience Delivery, pages use server-side rendering and a dedicated content delivery network to render the page and serve it on a CDN. These optimizations can speed page loads by upwards of 60%, increasing conversations and lowering bounce rates. Experience Delivery can be enabled by going to the site's Administration workspace.

Commerce: Offer Shoppers Relevant Search Suggestions

Salesforce D2C and B2B Commerce shoppers can now be offered suggestions from the site's product catalog while searching. For example, if a shopper enters "gre" in the search box, they will be shown a list of suggestions based on products in the store such as products with the word green in their title, description, etc. And to improve the experience, admins can turn on Commerce Einstein to use search activity to learn the best search terms to suggest.

Education: Autonomously Answer and Support Prospective Students

Every release Salesforce continues to find ways for AI agents to improve both customer and employee satisfaction. With Student Recruitment Agent for Agentforce, prospective students can get immediate answers to questions for topics such as applications, financial assistance, etc. Like other out-of-the-box agents in Agentforce, Student Recruitment Agent is preconfigured with topics and content from objects such as recruitment and admissions, along with knowledge.

Field Service: Improve Mobile Worker Productivity with Discovery Framework Data Capture Forms

Field workers often need to capture a lot of data onsite, including going through a lengthy and complex assessment process. With Discovery Frame Data Capture Forms, admins can create forms that run both online or offline in the Field Service Mobile app for field workers to collect information quickly. Forms can be launched from a service appointment or work order line item. Admins can build forms by first creating assessment questions in Discovery Framework, then create a Discovery Framework Data Capture flow.

.

Nonprofit: Improve Donor Relations and Track the Impact of Gifts

Fundraising operators will improve their efficiency entering gifts with the ability to enter in custom information during gift entry. Admins can map custom fields for use during gift entry by going to Setup->Fundraising->Gift Entry and then using the Field Mapping section. Information such as the purpose of a gift will help cut down on the number of steps that fundraising operators have to take to fully enter a gift in NPC.

Revenue: Accelerate Product Creation with Deep Clone

Revenue Cloud is fast becoming in feature parity with CPQ, and eclipsing it in certain feature sets. Spring '25 has brought a whole host of new features into Revenue Cloud such as decimal product quantities, reusing configurations to create quotes and orders, line level pricing contracts, and accelerating product creation with deep cloning. Product admins can clone an existing product and all of its related entities such as attributes, child components, and so on, to greatly simplify new product creation.

Sales: Coordinate Your Sales Team's Activities with More Transparency

Sales Cloud users can now get access to action plans to associate a templated set of tasks and events to accounts, leads, opportunities, etc. Action plans have been available in industries cloud for a while and because of their success, Salesforce has rolled them out to sales cloud. Action plans can also be added to an account plan's objective's Strategic Tracker so important activities can be tracked on the plan.

.

Service: Get Case Resolution Assistance at the Click of a Button

Service Cloud has gotten a slew of Agentforce features over the past year and one of the newest is Agentforce Service Planner. This AI assistant will use generative AI to summarize a case and create a list of suggested steps for case resolution using information from the case and the agent's topics, actions and instructions. To set up, go to the Service Planner Setup page and use the guided setup. Then add the Service Planner component to the case record page.

Conclusion

From Agentforce features to flow enhancements to the new UI, Salesforce's Spring ‘25 release is sure to keep you busy as a bee this spring!
