Every quarter, DB Services donates to a nonprofit through our Surveys for Success program. This quarter's partner is Rise Alliance for Children. Rise gives young children facing hardship a strong foundation through guided, play-based learning, strengthening their academic and social-emotional skills. Their work spans Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Ukraine, Vietnam, the Middle East, and the United States.
Children in underserved communities often face developmental delays, attachment disorders, and the lasting effects of trauma, with little access to the kind of care that addresses these issues early. Founded in the early 1990s, Rise has grown into a network of more than 150 local partners across eight countries. 2025 was a record-setting year for Rise, with more than 79,000 children and their families gaining access to education and breaking the cycle of missed schooling.
Rise's play-based, trauma-informed methods equip children with the social-emotional skills needed to recover and thrive. Their focus is on how to teach rather than what to teach, and they offer mentoring programs for teachers and caregivers that will help them implement the same tools and methods with their children. The results and impact have been proven over the years. 90% of children with learning delays catch up developmentally within their first year of Rise services, and program participants are three times more likely to succeed in school.
